Abby Taplin, MA, LCPC

My name is Abby Taplin and I’m a licensed clinical professional counselor. I live in Dwight, IL with my husband, son, daughter and our pet dog. We love spending time outdoors, going for walks and bike rides.

I have worked in Community Mental Health for 5 years and received my M.A. in Counseling from Olivet Nazarene University and my B.A. in Psychology from Illinois State University. In addition, I have worked in the Department of Corrections and facilitated groups for women geared towards post-partum depression. I currently provide counseling services at Livingston County Special Services Unit and work with students ranging in ages from 5 to 17 years of age. Throughout this experience, I gained a vast amount of experience working with a variety of mental health concerns which further deepened my interest and understanding of trauma and its implications.

Furthermore, I believe in the therapeutic process and its benefits for restoring love, trust and growth. I am passionate about working with each individual to establish specific goals based on their needs to promote growth, happiness and stability in their lives.
