About Me

Denise Bess is a scholar-practitioner in counselor education and supervision, integrating research, teaching, and clinical practice to advance the counseling profession. Her work is grounded in culturally responsive and anti-racist pedagogy, with a focus on elevating the experiences of diverse and historically marginalized populations in counselor training programs.

In addition to her academic work, Denise brings extensive clinical experience in private practice, specializing in trauma-informed care, as well as the treatment of anxiety and depression. She is dedicated to supporting individuals navigating complex emotional and psychological challenges through evidence-based, relational, and culturally responsive approaches, bridging scholarship and practice to promote healing and resilience.
