About Me

Angella is a Mental Health Educator, a community Activist, and an Advocate for Women’s rights just to name a few.  She has completed her Master’s degree in Counseling from Lincoln Christian University and several certifications including Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is currently finishing up her certification in Urban Trauma and Anxiety.

Angella has served her community as a part time License Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) at Human Services Detox and Crisis Center, Home Sweet Home Mission, and Center of Youth and Family Solutions. She is currently working with Peoria Rescue Ministries and Peoria Friendship Missionary Baptist Church as a psychotherapist specializing in complex trauma, racial trauma, anxiety, and overall women’s mental health.  During the covid pandemic she devoted countless hours to serving people throughout the state that were suffering from depression grief, and anxiety due to isolation from friends and family.  In addition to her psychotherapy work, she is also a full-time employee of State Farm for over 25 years.

As a thank you from the community, Angella has received accolades from her peers such as the Top Counselor Mentor award in 2021 and the Humanity Advocate Award in 2022.  Angella’s lifelong commitment is to be what God has called her to be as a servant of minority communities where mental health resources are limited.  In always putting God first, she will continue to answer this call and charge forward in the path that God has set before her.

In her spare time, Angella opened her own practice, The Vine & The Branches, LLC, where she provides mental health counseling, consultation, and coaching.  She loves spending time at her church and traveling with her family.
